Virginia Attainment SIP

A number of areas in Virginia have been identified by the EPA as nonattainment and are not meeting federal air quality standards. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality State Air Pollution Control Board continues to revise its State Implementation Plan (SIP) to address this issue as required by the EPA, under the terms of the 1990 amendments to the Clean Air Act. These air regulations cover stationary sources including industrial facilities and other fixed emission sources.

Those areas not meeting federal air quality standards are the following:

Compliance Information

The Virginia Air Pollution Control Board reviews facility compliance requirements on a base-by-base case. Required emission limits are based on various factors including facility size, fuel type and surrounding areas. In addition, best available control technologies (BACT) are applied and utilized to achieve full compliance. These technologies are determined by industry standards, including the option of Low NOx and Ultra Low NOx burner technology. Visit Coen's Products and Services page for a complete listing of compliance solutions.

For additional information regarding your facility's specific compliance requirements, contact Virginia's Office of Air Permits Programs.
