New Burner Supplies Added Performance at Lower Cost

WOODLAND, CA - Coen engineers have re-engineered their firetube boiler burner, Micro-NOx, to meet tomorrow's expected regulatory requirements while retaining the quality, performance and cost required in the commercial market.

QUALITY - PERFORMANCE - COST are the desired characteristics of any viable product and served as excellent target areas for the redesign of the Micro-NOx package.

QUALITY

Coen has supplied burners for the industrial market since 1912 and have now approached the commercial market with the same durability and rugged construction typical of their industrial line of products. The new Micro-NOx is designed and manufactured to the same rigid specifications required of Coen's full line of industrial products.

PERFORMANCE

It is a simple statement which encompasses a world of possibilities. How does one define performance? Some may say turndown - others emissions.

Coen's Micro-NOx development team targeted everything from turndown to emissions to durability to the performance of a simple inlet damper. The result was a package with the best performance in the industry. The new Micro-NOx has emissions performance of below 20 ppm. Emission levels are met over a wide turndown range (10:1) using minimal levels of flue gas recirculation, thereby not compromising boiler efficiency.

The new venturi style register is extremely effective in distributing air uniformly to the burner, which results in very low CO levels. At over a 4:1 turndown, CO emissions below 50 ppm are a common site. At higher turndowns (10:1), customers can expect as low as 200 ppm CO. All this combined with the new simplified and more compact burner/windbox design make the new Micro-NOx easy to install and start up.

COST

Typically increases in performance go hand in hand with increases in price. With this new burner, it is simply not the case. The new Micro-NOx provides the customer with the added performance features described here, all at a lower cost. Every part on the new Micro-NOx was evaluated for lower cost alternatives. Simplifications in the burner/windbox design allowed for reductions in cost. The end result is a high performance, industrial quality burner with at a lower cost.
