FOSTER CITY, Calif., Aug. 27, 2008 – Coen Company introduces its C-RMB burner, the first commercially available burner to provide NOx emissions of less than 5 parts per million (ppm) for industrial boiler applications. The patented ultra-low-NOx C-RMB burner utilizes a cell burner arrangement, with multiple single-zone burners applied in unison. The two-cell concept has proven extremely successful in several installations and can accommodate boilers with heat inputs up to 120 million BTU per hour. Additional burner cells can be added for boilers requiring higher heat inputs. The C-RMB burner was installed at TomaTek, a tomato processing facility in central Calif., as part of the retrofit of two 80,000 pounds-per-hour “D” style package watertube boilers. TomaTek was required to meet an emission limit of 6 ppm NOx and 90 ppm CO on both boilers. Both units were set up to operate below 5 ppm NOx and 50 ppm CO, and have been operated in automatic with a ramp rate from 20 percent to 100 percent firing rate within three minutes. Source testing of these boilers was performed in May 2008. For more information on Coen’s C-RMB boiler burner, customers may call 650-638-0365. The C-RMB burner incorporates patented technology owned by URS Corporation and used under license. Coen Company, Inc., located in Foster City, Calif., is the worldwide leader in the design, manufacture, service, and maintenance of low-NOx and ultra-low-NOx boiler burners, duct burners and combustion systems.
