The Ultra Stable Pilot proves to be a low cost solution for severe
environment applications such as kilns, vertical fired process heaters,
incinerators, black liquor boilers, multi-burner boilers, and burners
over hog fuel grates. The concept behind the Ultra Stable Pilot
is to force combustion air through the pilot, both to prevent the black
liquor material from depositing inside the hood and to provide a more
stable combustion region for light off. This design can be supplied with
a hood within the windbox, which eliminates the requirement of a separate
air source. This is depicted in the picture below.
The Ultra Stable Pilot is extremely reliable because of its robust
flame and rugged construction. It contains a utility grade spark rod and
is equipped with a high energy power pack. Additionally, the design of
the pilot is very accommodating because the open head allows for contaminants
to pass through.
