The Coen MV Atomizer features a multiple-venturi nozzle which provides superior atomization at proven low atomizing steam flow rates. The standard MV Atomizers are constructed with the finest quality features to provide reliability, ease of maintenance, and long life. The Coen MV Atomizer is an inside mix, steam or air, atomized oil burner. It is capable of atomizing liquids from low viscosity up to 300 SSU, depending on the application. It is available in a variety of special materials including:
The MV Atomizer produces greater than 8:1 turndown on large single burners with simple differential pressure control of atomizing steam (or air). It consists of the burner guide pipe, burner socket and the atomizer itself. The nozzle end of the atomizer consists of a mixer within the mixer sleeve, whirlplate, nozzle body and nozzle cap. To remove carbon and gummy deposits, periodic cleaning is necessary. This makes the nozzle end easy and simple to maintain. Also, each piece is easily replaced, if needed. The MV Atomizer is available in four sizes for flow rates up to 30 GPM with steam pressures of 100 to 200 PSIG, with wide range capability.
The Coen MVI AtomizerThe Coen MVI Atomizer is an improved design incorporating Coen's low emission technology. Features include:
The Coen MV & MVI Atomizers...for Superior Atomization and Long Life. MA Low Pressure Atomizer
The availability of steam at 150 pounds per square inch on most boiler installations provides an excellent atomizing medium for fuel oils. For this reason the majority of large oil burners are atomized with steam. However, there are many cases where atomizing steam is not available. Hot water generators, air heaters, 15 pound boilers, and other similar cases are examples of burner applications where steam is not normally available. High pressure air (150 psig) is another good atomizing medium. However, the cost of compressing air to these pressures in the quantities needed for atomization limits the use of this approach. Mechanical atomizing, where high pressure oil is atomized by forcing it through a nozzle, is generally unsatisfactory for several reasons. Poor atomization, limited firing range, or turndown, and difficulties in mixing air with the cone type spray patterns of a mechanical atomizer have about eliminated this method of atomizing. The Coen MA Low Pressure Atomizer was designed to provide an effective, low cost method of atomizing where steam is not available. It operates with air pressure (approximately 15 psig) and it does not require an air compressor to supply atomizing air. Lobe type blowers, or centrifugal compressors, are adequate sources of air, and in most cases, are furnished with the burner package. Coen MA Low Pressure Atomizers are available in four sizes (#1, #2, #3, and #5) for firing rates up to 25 GPM, and can atomize oils ranging from light oils to #6. Where steam is not available, the Coen MA Low Pressure Atomizer is the preferred and best selection for oil firing.
